IMPHAL, August 23: Displaying their supreme control over the country’s women’s football, the state Sub Junior girls football team blanked their counterparts from Punjab by 18-0 in the ongoing 7th Girl’s Sub Junior National Football Championship, which is being played at Haldwani.
According to a release of the AMFA, the state team stormed into the quarter finals with the defeat handed to the Punjab girls.
Ranjibala of the state scored seven goals while Margaret scored five goals (including a hattrick each) for the state team. Diana added another three while Ratnamala scored two, with Sumila adding another goal for the state in the completely one sided match.
Manipur will meet Jharkhand in the first quarter final match on August 25.
