National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh is one among the ten newly sanctioned NITS by the Government of India in 2009 under the 11th Five year Plan. NIT Arunachal Pradesh shall be temporarily housed in Yupia, the district headquarters of the Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh. Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh is situated in the same district. An all weather road to the other parts of the country connects Yupia. It is around 18 kilometers from Itanagar and around 11 kilometers from Naharlagan, which is the twin capital town. The nearest railway station is Harmutty (Meter Gauge), which is around 36 kilometers. A Broad Gauge railway line is being laid to connect it to other parts of the country. The nearest airport is Lilabari, which is around 50 kilometers and nearest helipad is at Naharlagan. Daily helicopter services are available between Guwahati and Naharlagan except on Sundays. Besides, day and night bus services are available from Guwahati, which is around 400 kilometers from Naharlagan.

The site of the NIT is situated on a flat land surrounded by beautiful and green forest and mountains. The area is picturesque and serene and has an ideal academic environment. In the vicinity of the Institute are the offices of the District Officials like the Deputy Commissioner, the District Medical Officer, the Deputy Director of School Education, the District Planning Officer etc.

The academic session at NIT, Arunachal shall commencing with the first batch of students in AUGUST 2010. There shall be three branches namely Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering to begin with. Curriculum shall be drawn in the lines of NITs and shall have the best practices. The admission in NIT Arunachal is based on entrance test which is AIEEE, conducted by the Central  Board of Secondary Education.

Institute invites applications from Indian nationals, possessing excellent academic background, commitment to quality teaching, potential for carrying out outstanding research,  and inclinational towards institutional development for the faculty positions at the level of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in various Disciplines  of the Institute. Once selected, the candidate will have to join duty immediately.

Application Fee: Application fee for various positions of faculty members is Rs.600/- (Rupees Six Hundred) for General and OBC candidates and Rs.300/- (Rupees Three Hundred) for SC and ST candidates. Without application fee, no application will be scrutinized. Application fee in the form of Bank Draft addressed to “The Director, NIT, Durgapur” payable at SBI, R.E. College Branch, Durgapur-713 209 should be accompanied with each application form.

Accommodation: Residential accommodation as per Institute rules will be provided within the campus subject to availability. HRA may be paid in lieu of residential accommodation.

The minimum pay in the Pay Band will be Rs.43000/-    Ph.D. degree (with first class degree at Bachelors or Master’s level) in appropriate discipline.    At least five years of teaching/ research experience at the level of Associate Professor with 8 years experience of teaching with AGP of Rs.8000/- and experience of guiding research at Ph.D. level. The candidate should have supervised at-least one Ph.D.    Research Work of high standard, and Membership of professional Bodies.

Professional work which is significant and can be recognized as equivalent to Ph.D degree.

He should have experience of guiding research at Post Graduate / Ph.D. level.

Deputation/ Contractual Appointments: The Faculty who are appointed on contractual basis shall be for a fixed period with maximum period of five years form the date of joining.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS

Applications filled only in the given format along with summery sheet will be entertained.

Copies of certificates, mark sheets, testimonials etc should be attached with the application (attested by competent authority) and the originals must be produced at the time of interview and at the time of joining, if selected. The selected candidates shall produce in original the Matriculation or equivalent certificate as proof of the date of birth. No other evidence will be accepted.
The calculations of qualifying service for pension(new pension scheme) and other retirement benefits etc. shall be as per Government of India rules and as amended from time to time by the Government of India.
Other allowance like Group Insurance Scheme, LTC, Medical Reimbursement, Leave etc are admissible as per Institute rules applicable to new recruitees from time to time and as per MHRD/Board of Governors guidelines.
The selected candidate may be posted in the section/department/centre of the Institute.
Any misleading or wrong information supplied may lead to summary rejection of application/appointment, if found subsequently.
Canvassing in any form by or on behalf of a candidate will be disqualification.
The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any of the post(s) advertised.
The post advertised are tentative & subject to variation at the time of interview/recruitment.
Those who are serving in State/Central Govt./Establishment/NITs/IITs /Universities etc. may have their previous services considered as per Institute rules applicable to new recruitees from time to time and as per GOI guidelines.
No interim queries regarding test/interview/selection will be entertained.

The Institute reserves the right to offer some of the positions on Regular / Contractual / Deputation basis.
Mere fulfillment of minimum qualification and experience requirements for a post does not entitle the candidate to be called for an interview. The Institute reserves the right to shortlist and restricts the number of candidates interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience. The number and / or level of positions / posts may also vary as per the need of the Institute at the time of recruitment.

Candidates in Govt. / Semi Govt. / Govt. undertakings or Autonomous Bodies should apply through proper channel and a “No-objection Certificate” from the employer be furnished at the time of interview. If original application is routed through proper channel, a copy of the application should be sent in advance before the prescribed / stipulated last date.
The Institute authority reserves the right to accept and / or cancel the recommendation of Selection Committee without assigning any reason.
Candidates called for interview will be reimbursed Railway Fare in AC-II tier class with reservation charges for Professor level positions and for all other positions, Second class sleeper charges.
The decision of the Director of the Institute in the matter of screening of candidates to be called for Interview and selection is final and binding.
The Institute will not be responsible under any circumstances for any sort of postal delivery/delay.

Applications on plain paper or received late after last date of receiving due to Postal / Courier / Speed Post delay will not be considered. Incomplete applications or applications without proper attested photocopies of Caste certificate / Physically Handicapped certificate or without proper testimonials or short fall of papers in applications will not be considered.
