IMPHAL, Aug 17: In an simple ceremony held at HQ IGAR(South) by 39 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector, Major General C A Krishnan , IGAR(S) felicitated Mr. L Ibomcha Singh, National Boxing coach for his magnificent achievement of being awarded the Dronacharya Award 2010. The occasion was graced by Mr Francis Marwen (DIR In-charge Sports Authority of Indian, North Eastern Regional Centre) and students from the Sports Authority of India. Mr L Ibomcha Singh retired from Indian Army in 1980 to form Manipur Amateur boxing Association at Imphal. As a coach he was associated with Manipur State Team, Sub Junior National Coaching Camp as well as the Indian Boxing team. In his felicitation speech Major General C A Krishnan praised the efforts of Mr. L Ibomcha Singh in bringing laurels to Manipur and his country and assured him of any possible assistance and support from the IGAR(S) in future.
