IMPHAL, August 30: A combined team of CDO/Thoubal and 42 AR apprehended one PULF cadre from the Kuraopokpi area. As per a release issued by the Thoubal Police, the cadre Md Abdul Matalip @ Abongchakpan @ Punshiba, 29 yrs, son of late Md. Salaouddin of Keibung Mathak Leikai was apprehended along with one (1) 9mm Pistol with a magazine and five (5) Live rounds of 9mm ammunition.
On the other hand, Imphal West Police commandos arrested UPPK activist on August 28. A release said IW/CDO under the supervision of S Ibomcha Singh, Dy.SP(CDO) first arrested one woman, RK (O) Memcha Devi, 60, W/o R.K Manihar Singh of Naran Konjin, presently residing at Thongju Part-II.
On her disclosure, her eldest son, RK Bobo Singh alias Chingkhei (23 yrs) who is also an active member of the UPPK was arrested on the same day at 10.45 pm from the house of Ningthoujam Kavita Devi, 40, of Takyel Kolup Leikai.
He disclosed that he joined UPPK through one Md.Jakir of Thoubal Moijing. As per the release issued by the IW/Police, on further verification, another woman cadre of the UPPK, Waikhom Shanti Devi, 29 yrs, D/o (L) W Iboyai Singh of Lilong Mapal Arapti was also arrested. Shanti also disclosed that she is working with the UPPK group for the last 6 months under the command of one Chingkhei of Konthoujam Lairembi, the release added.
