Guwahati HC Chief Justice visits state

IMPHAL, Aug 27: Senior most Judge of the Delhi High Court, Madan Bhimarao Lokur after being appointed as the Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court arrived at Imphal on the 22nd of this month to take stock of the developments related to Judiciary matters.

A press release from the Registrar of the GHC (Imphal bench) states that the Chief Justice has been discharging twin jobs of sitting courts at Imphal bench and inspection of subordinate courts located at Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Thoubal and Ukhrul. He also met with government officials on matters regarding improvement of court buildings and related infrastructures.

As per the week long schedule of the Chief Justice in the state, after holding court on the 23rd, the Lamphel Court complex and the Cheirap Court complex was inspected along with taking stock of the ongoing construction work of the High Court complex at Mantripukhri.

Till the 26th of the month the chief justice inspected subordinate courts of Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Thoubal and Ukhrul. He also visited the INA complex, Sendra hillock, Khuga dam and Khongjom War memorial. In the course of his inspection, he addressed the grievances of the Bench, Bar and other staff members.
