IMPHAL, Aug 27: Troops of 29 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) at Tengnoupal along NH-39 on 26 Aug 10, at around 2.30 pm, noticed a person sitting suspiciously inside a Bolero bearing registration Number MN-01W-1369 coming from Imphal to Moreh and immediately detained him.
He revealed that he is a contractor for road repair and maintenance. However, since the year 2000 he has been working as an OGW for PLA. He had been working for the militant groups in Sajik Tampak and presently operating in Moreh area. The person was identified as Gurumayum Rajen Sharma, 60 years, son of Gurumayum Bagendro Sharma, resident of Uripok Khaidem Leikai, Imphal West. Two Mobile handset (Nokia 1209 and TATA INDICOM), two SIM card (AIRCEL and TATA INDICOM), two Books containing PLA training material, one pen drive and cash Rs. 1,000 were recovered from the person who along with the recoveries was handed over to Imphal West police station.
