Imphal, Sep 11: The Backward Women’s Economic Development Centre under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Environment and Forest, GOI through the Environment and Ecology Wing, Government of Manipur organized a one-day awareness on climate change on September 9 at the Langmeidong community hall, Thoubal district. The awareness campaign was organized under the theme ‘Role of Community and Climate Change and Tree Plantation’ in relation with National Environment Awareness Campaign 2009-2010.
As per the release, 50 trees were planted and the resource persons deliberated on awareness information. E.Sanahanbi, social worker and Th.Menjao, president of the BWEDC graced the program as the chief guest and functional president respectively while National Youth Awardee T.Romen Meitei and Dr. Dhiren Singh, social worker were the resource persons for the program.
