IMPHAL, Sep 9: State Governor Gurbachan Jagat has conveyed his heartiest greetings to the Muslim brethren and the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Id-ul-Fitre.
In his message the Governor has stated that the celebration of Id-ul-Fitre helps propagate the message of peace, brotherhood and friendship which are prerequisites for peaceful co-existence in human society. He also stated that we should all strengthen our resolve to preserve and promote tolerance and peace and live in harmony.
The Chief Minister O.Ibobi Singh also conveyed his greetings and good wishes to the people of Manipur especially the Muslim brethren on the occasion of Id-ul-Fitr. In his message, he stated that Id-ul-Fitr marks the end of fasting during the holy month of Ramzan. The fasting observed during Ramzan reaffirms the spirit of charity and generosity and also highlights the feelings of empathy for the poor and the deprived.
The CM further wished “Id-Mubarak” to all the people in Manipur and hoped that the festival would unite all in the spirit of universal brotherhood of all humanity and inspire everyone to work towards building a harmonious and peaceful society free from poverty, suffering and hunger.
