Teachers’ Day celebrations continue in Ukhrul


UKHRUL, Aug 4:  Celebration of the Teachers’ Day marking the birthday of Dr.S. Radha Khrishnan on 5th September every year is still continuing in Ukhrul schools.

The Ukhrul Public School (UPS) today observed the occasion in a grand ceremony at Ukhrul Town Hall with an overwhelming congregation of more than 700 strength of UPS students, parents, teachers and non-teaching staffs of more than25 numbers along with the presence of the media practitioners. The grand function kicked-off at 12 noon today.

The occasion was marked and observed with various entertainments and interesting programmes displayed by the school students taking part from the kindergarten to the Higher classes. The main entertainment included the dramas and skits like that of the kids show, kids on the ramp, race, beep, O,Elier, just dance, disfigure contest, a love story, flowers in the rain, disco, traditional show, be my Angel, dwell in my heart, Hey Girls, Rainbow, Here I am to worship, eat you up bringing the compact audience to laughter and excitement in acts of “Leipala and Ngaranmi” saying the last word of “I love you” by Ten standard students and the most performance and excellent mono act dance displayed in ”Barbie dancing” performed by a 7-year old UKG student Lanshimlan (Lanlan).

Before the concluding session Principal of the UPS Alex Khayi gave a short speech highlighting the important quotations of the Great scholar Abraham Lincoln who coined the need to shape the students by teachers and guardians, parents with a saying writing to the teachers of his son, “he will have to learn, I know, that all men are just, all men are not true but teach him also that for every scoundrel there is a hero. The saying also quoted that for every enemy there is a friend. It will take time, I know; but teach him if you can that a dollar earned is of far more valuable than five dollars unearned and in school teach him, it is for more honorable to fail than to cheat and these are some points the Principal delivered in his speech.
