IMPHAL, Sep 5: Troops of the Red Shield Division apprehended two lady over-ground workers of the finance wing of the underground PREPAK from Ningthoukhong and Moirang on September 4, informed a statement issued by the PIB Defense Wing.
It said that the troops of 4/8 Gorkha Rifles in an operation with police commandos and mahila police apprehended the two women identified as Shanti, 45, wife of Tomba Singh, resident of Moirang Thana Leikai and Tababi, 28, daughter of Santhong Phaba, resident of Moirang Thana Leikai.
Both over-ground workers have been actively involved in making demands and collection of extortion money from various schools of the area since the last few months. Both lady OGWs have been handed over to Bishnupur police station, added the statement.
