KSO highlights poor education scenario in Khengjoi area

IMPHAL, Oct 24: The Kuki Students Organization, Khenjoy Block, Chandel has expressed deep concern with regard to education scenario in the region.
A statement of the KSO unit said with the initiative taken up by the elected ADC members, members of the students body surveyed schools between October 16 and 22 and found that the existing government school functioning active with the respective school managing boards despite the lack of government teachers and school infrastructures.
The students body also appealed and demand adequate teachers to be sent to Tujang Primary School immediately as there is only one government teacher with more than 80 eighty students while the New Samtal Junior High School has three government teachers with more than 150 students.
Further the organization has demanded that government provide the required teachers, infrastructures and to speed the upgrading of the only existing Junior High School to High School at the earliest in order to meet the educational needs of the area.
With not much of a steady effort seen from the governments’ side, the student organization on the other hand has thanked the Assam Rifles authority operating in the area for playing a major role in the field of education. Similarly, as per the release the 26 Sector Commandant, Pallel assured the Kuki Students Organization that under his initiative, an educational tour will be organized for the students under the Khenjoy block by the end of the month in November in and around Imphal. The organization has expressed profound gratitude to the ADC members and the Assam Rifles for taking the initiatives in the field of education.
