Imphal, Oct 1: The 24-hours state wide bandh called by the Association for DPC selected candidates for Primary Teachers and Hindi Teachers, 2006 has partially effect normal life in the state today.
The Association has called the 24 hours statewide bandh from yesterday midnight till today midnight following the failure of the state state government to announced the result of the DPC which have conducted during 2006.
In the meantime, there has been little impact of the bandh today along the Mayai Lambi and Thoubal district as the volunteers of the association have voluntarily came out in open streets along the Imphal Thoubal road destroyed the wind screens of the many vehilce mainly the passenger vahicles near Lilong and Thoubal bazar demonstrating their mark of protest.
On the other the timely intervention and heavy deployment of the Thoubal police personnels from Lilong to Thoubal district headquarter have prevented further disturbances along the route and the team of Thoubal district police have also arrested nine representatives of the association including its Vice President, Okram Basanta from Thoubal areas today.
In the menatime, according Md Rahman, president of the association, mentioned that, if the state government fails to give the appointment of those DPC successful candidates on or before October 5, the association will file a formal case to Guwahati High court for getting a real justice, he added.
