IMPHAL, Nov 3: On 31 Oct 2010,discovering the movement of militant cadres from Imphal to Moreh, 29 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South)launched operation on NH -39 and apprehended two individuals. The apprehendee were identified as Leihaorungbam Sital alias Fangnaba 19, resident of Takhel and Lausangbam Chingkhei naganba alias Paupa Singh,16,resident of Takhel. according to a release of the PRO, Leihaorungbam Sital alias Fangnaba alias was found to be an active member of the proscribed militant group KCP who was working as a project officer for recruitment for the group.
It has also added that further interrogation revealed that he was taking one fresh recruit Lausangbam Chingkhei Nganba alias Paupa Singh to join the group. The active cadre was there after handed over to Imphal west police and the misled youth being taken away for recruitment training was handed over back to his parents in presence of police official, added the release.
