IMPHAL, Nov 6: A one day awareness programme on Rabi Crop Cultivation under Integrated Pest Management and Integrated
Nutrient Management was held today at Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam Leishangkhong Mayai Leikai organized by the Young Farmers’
Progressive Union under the sponsorship of ministry of agriculture government of India and state agriculture department.
The awareness programme was inaugurated by the L Palendro, director agriculture as chief guest while president of the Young
Farmers’ Progressive Union, K Ranjit, secretary of the union M Thoiba, Dy. director planning G Shamu Kabui, Dy. director Ph.
Rajendro, and Addlt. CE K. Manoranjan.
During the inaugural function, the spokespersons mentioned about the importance and benefit of green revolution and also
asked farmers of the state to cooperate in every programme taken up by the agriculture department to keep the state a green
state and also to take the advice of the experts.
Further, he also advice the farmers not to use excessive fertilizers because it affects human.
In the afternoon session, agriculture experts from Central Agriculture University enlightened the farmers with speeches on
numerous topics about development of farming.
