IMPHAL, Nov 16: A joint sitting of the officials of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) Ltd. and the officials of state today has chalk strategis to ease out the existing harship facing by the people of the state due to the scarcities of petrol, Diesel and LPG since last month months even after the blockade along National Highways of the state has been lifted before two months back by the Naga bodies.
According to an official source, complying the recent advised of the state government inviting the officials of IOC to the state for discussing the matter related to the scarcity of the petroleum products in the state since last many months, a team of IOC including, Manager FCI, IOC North East in charge, Regional General Manager of FCI, LPG Asst Manager from Guwahati have arrived state capital and attened an official called on meeting at chief secreatry chamber this afternoon.
The official source further said, the meeting was chaired by the state chief secretary at his official chamber at Old Secretariat Imphal during which DGP Manipur, Y Joykumar Singh, Deputy Commissioners of both Imphal West and Imphal East, SPs Imphal East and Imphal West and Commandant 133 Bn CRPF.
During the official meeting this afternoon officials representing the state government made suggestions that CRPF to remain escort for the vehicles transporting the pertoleum products to the state from out and there was also an instruction that the concern CRPF authorities should coordinated with the state Home and Police department and give updating reports of vehicle carrying petroleum consignments before and after the vehicles are to be escorted regularly.
The official source further mentioned that, the officials of the state have also made proposals for making completion of the tender process for the transportations of petroleum products into the state which is also another factor for limited supply of petrol, Diesel and LPG in the state at present. On the other hand there was a common opinion for both visiting IOC officials and officials representing state government during the meeting this afternoon that, the existing hardship facing by the people of the state over the scarcities of petrol diesel and LPG specially could be reduced to some extend if the there is systematic distributions of these products by the dealers and the authorities of outlets of the state, the source added.
The source also further mentioned that the visiting officials from IOC taking serious note on the proposal made from the state government, made their assurances to take possible measures in the nearest future to solve the existing problems of scarcities of petroleum products in the state.
