IMPHAL, Nov 22: The DESAM, and representatives of various students’ organization of the state have warned of various forms of agitations and movements in case the government and the teachers of government schools failed to bring an amicable solution to the teachers demand for implementation of Sixth Central Pay scale in toto and end the ongoing cease-work strike of the teachers.
Netajit Potshangbam, general secretary Wangoi Higher Secondary School, who was also in the press conference further elaborated that eight days have passed since the teachers have stopped taking classes because of the wraggling between the government and the state government which has further damaged the academic calendar of the state which is already been disturbed by the frequent bandhs, economic blockades, general strike etc.
He has further stated that the teachers and the government does not seem to be concerned with the welfare of the students of the state even though they have been yelling for a free and fair environment for education in the state.
He has further decried the act of the teachers at such a time when the 10th and 12th class students of the state are awaiting to seat in their career making exams stating that the students of 10th and 12th classes suffered the most from the cease work strike of the teachers because of their coming exams.
The conference which was attended by various representatives of high school and higher secondary school students of the state including Khurai Popular high school, Lamlong Higher secondary, Ibotonsana Higher Secondary school have also submitted a memorandum to the education minister of the state to settle the issue at the earliest and helped the students of the state.
