IMPHAL, Nov 15: The Transporters and Drivers Council of Manipur (TDCM) has appealed to the concerned authorities to complete the road development works of NH-53 before the arrival of monsoon season.
Addressing a press meet at the office of TDCM, president H. Ranjit said that the government should take keen interests in monitoring the works of NH-53 by BRO.
He appealed to the trucks and oil-tankers to resume ferrying goods on the NH-53, and warned those plying on NH-39 against the decision of the Council.
Ranjit further denounced black-marketing and other forms of illegal trading of essential goods like petroleum products carried out by those drivers and owners plying on NH-39.
Meanwhile, 245 loaded trucks and oil-tankers reached Imphal through NH-53 yesterday.
