IMPHAL, Dec 19: The artisans of the state should try to produce good quality handloom and handicraft products for export to other parts of the world, said retired additional director of agriculture, Y. Nabakishore during an interaction programme held today as a part of the ongoing exhibition cum sale of handicraft products organized by Centre for Better Living at Nambol Bazar Community Hall, Bishnupur district.
Nabakishore further stated that the handloom and handicraft products of the state are in great demand outside the state and so the weavers and artisans should devote more time in the production of artistic products.
The investigator of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textile, Government of India, Th. Rajen also participated in the interaction programme as resource person.
Altogether 10 stalls showcasing a wide range of handloom and handicraft products are participating in the exhibition which is being held from December 15 to 24 under the sponsorship of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textile, Government of India.
