MOREH, Dec 16: Authorities of Manipur government has proposed the Myanamr authorities for the conduct of Crime Development Cordination Workshop between the officials of Myanmar and officials of Manipur at Imphal and allowing of free entry of Myanmarese upto Imphal with proper identity card and non restriction of Indian citizen upto Madalay.
The proposals came up during the second Indo-Myanmar Border Laison meeting which convened today at the conceference hall of Moreh Trade Centre, Moreh.
The meeting was jointly attended by the liason officer concerned of Moreh sub-division and Tamu Town.
The meeting was chaired by DC Chandel H Dilip, K Radhashyam SP, Chandel, Lunminthang Haokip ADC Moreh, Md Firoz ASP Chandel, Y Ashokumar ASP (Ops) Moreh, M Rameshwar SDPO Moreh Ranjan Vishal SDO Ukhrul, Sailesh Chaurasia SDO, Chandel, RK Ibungosana SP/NCB, Imphal, RK Dorendrajit SP CPF, Moreh, representing Manipur government. DC General Administrative Department, Tamu U Nyihtwe lead the Myanmar officers team during the meeting. Pol. Lt. Col. Zaw SP Kalay district, U Kyi Sien Tun DC Imigration Department Tamu, U Aung Kyi SP Custom Tamu. C ol Cpt. Ne Win SP of AN (Spl) TF, Capt. Thaw Min Oo MASU Capt. Si Thu Aung were other representative of RCC representing the Tamu Laison office.
According to a highly placed official source, the 2nd Indo-Myanmar border Laison meeting mainly discussed on the proposal made Manipur government official and it was welcome by the Myanmarese officials.
The official source further mentioned that the meeting today also paid main focus on the development of trade relations between the two countries through Moreh border town, proper mainatence of law and order in both the bordering areas by the respective concerned forces and mainenance of peacefull co-existence between the people of two countries.
On the other hand, media persons at border Moreh town were prevented from covering proceedings of the meeting by officials of the Manipur government.
Mediamen were allowed only to take pictures of the Myanmarese delegates.
Further, as good guesture SP Chandel K Radhashyam presented a mobile phone to the leader of the Myanmar delegate at the end of the meeting and meeting wind up with a luch at Moreh Trade Centre and the Myanmarese delegates left Indian side of the border town.
