BANGKOK, Dec 3 (NEPS): N Boynao Singh of Manipur, who created a history of sort by knocking out his Swedish opponent Byman Ulf in the 51 kg Male B category in semi final yesterday, lost today in the final match to Australian opponent Tak Linno.
The final fight between Boynao and Linno was very competitive but he lost in the fourth round. He however won “silver medal” that is still creating history as being the first from Manipur to have won “silver medal,” and the third in India .
Meanwhile, Anshuman Behera from Orissa won “bronze medal.” He lost in the semi final to his Ukrainian opponent Remyga Iaroslav yesterday in the 81 kg Junior Male category.
Both Boyano and Anshuman are part of a strong Indian Muaythai Team led by Oken Jeet Sandham, President, Muaythai Federation of India (MFI).
The 10-Day long World Muaythai Championship which started from November 27 will conclude on December 5 to mark the honor of His Majesty The King of Thailand’s Birthday on December 5.
