IMPHAL, December 8:Ex Naik Sheopujan Sahu, born in 1923, an old war veteran of World War II who hails from Manipur was invited as Guest of Honour to the 250th ASC Corps Day Celebration by Red Shield ASC Battalion at Military Station Leimakhong. He had an illustrious career of 20 yrs in Royal Army Service Corps where he joined as driver on 28 Dec 1944. During World War II he was part of ASC Contingent which served in Singapore and Malaya. He was among the chosen few who has driven the then General KM Carriappa and General Himmat Singh.
This proud war veteran is still going strong at 87 yrs of age and is full of `Esprit de Corps’. He was felicitated by Col Vikram Singh. Commanding Officer, Red Shield ASC Battalion on this occasion. He also addressed the jawans of Red Shield ASC Battalion and motivated them.
