IMHAL, Jan 29: The Central Agriculture University (CAU), Imphal is going to organized its second Convocation on February 1 next month at the CAU wherein graduation and post graduation degree will be conferred to 537 students.
According to an official statement of the university mentioned that, spreading education in the geo-politically sensitive North Eastern states has been a challenge and rendered an unparallel service for agriculture and education at large.
The statement further mentioned that, Central Agricultural University, Imphal was established in 1992 is serving six states and one college of post graduate studies in Barapani (Maghelaya). This fully residential university has been able to insulate the campuses from external disturbances and create an academic environment that has nurtured talent of the young talent of the area so such so that students passing out from this CAU are at par with the students from rest of the country for Junior Research Fellowship.
The official statement further mentioned that, Vice Chancellor of the university Dr SN Puri, who has been at the helm of affairs for last six years, has been taking pain to ensure that need based and location specified education is also incorporated in the curriculumn. Inspite of remoteness and other location related disadvantages, the university has tried to maintain academic environment at its campuses conductive for professional success of students. It is gratifying to note that this Central University is at the 5th position in the country so far the result of the All India Combined Examination for ICAR JRF is concerned, added the statement.
