Assam Rifles organizes free medical camp at Andro, Manipur

IMPHAL, Jan 23: The 28 Assam Rifles HQ 9 Sector under the aegis of HQ 
IGAR (S) conducted a medical cum dental camp today at Thaiyong Village, 
Andro.

Altogether 396 people inclusive of 98 males, 162 females and 136 
children were given treatment by a team of doctors from RIMS and JNIMS 
comprising of surgeon, gynaecologist, paediatrician and ophthalmologist. 

The medical camp was inaugurated by the Commandant of 28 Assam Rifles, 
who highlighted the importance of medical care and health education in 
the present day scenario and exhorted the public for making 
contributions towards the development of the state and the nation.

The 28 AR has been providing medical assistance regularly to the people 
in remote villages where there are no proper medical facilities. The 
villagers of Thaiyong wholeheartedly thanked the Assam Rifles for 
organizing the medical camp and distributing medicines free of cost. 

Meanwhile, the 23 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) under 
the aegis of Health Department, Ukhrul organized pulse polio 
immunization programme at Shangshak, YKPI and Sagolmang villages.
