IMPHAL Jan 24: A mobile court in the presence of a Judicial Magistrate First Class fined motorist for disregarding the norms laid down by the Transport department under pursuance of the Motor Vehicle Act 1958. A sum of Rs 78,100 was collected from motorist today for lack of proper documents, insurance, overloading and for riding without helmets.
Altogether 707 cases were registered and fined by the mobile court carried out at BT road.
The drive was carried out with the help of traffic authorities and will be carried out at different venues of the city.
