IMPHAL, Jan 24: Gaan Ngai the biggest festival of the Zeliangrong Community was jointly celebrated with Meitei and Kabui Community under the theme Unity, Integrity and Equality at Lilong Chajing Hand Ball Ground, Imphal West.
The festival organized by Meitei Kabui Apunba Pari-Puri Khonggul Liba Lup (MIKAL) was graced by Amu Gangmei, M. Kala retired Lecturer TG higher secondary school, Th. Hemchandra Singh, retired Lecturer DM College, Kakomlunglu Kamei, president Kabui Mothers’ Association, Village chief of Mahaballi Kabui Khul, as the chief guest while Leisemba Sanajaoba, Titular King of Manipur presided the function.
Representatives of various rongmei locality and meitei communities attended the festival. The festival was organized amidst fan fare of cultural shows of both the communities, gift exchange, highlighting historical relation between the communities etc.
