IMPHAL Jan 24: In pursuance of the investigation regarding sale and prescription of spurious drugs carried out by the Manipur Chemist and Druggist Association (MCDA) . A press release by RK Ratan, General secretary of the Association named a prominent doctor implicating him for prescribing the un authentic drugs even after the names of the spurious drugs have been announced in the media.
The release states that, one Doctor GS Moirangthem , professor of Surgery at RIMS is still prescribing the illegal medicine among others. The MCDA appeals to the medical associations and the concerned authorities to look into the matter and take up necessary action in the interest of the public, the statement questioned whether monitory profits is more valued than the lives of the patients .
The spurious drugs namely GLACE capsules, GLACE syrup , TX- Original injection ,FOLCARE syrup manufactured by the illegal company GELTEC and sale in the state have been exposed by the MCDA and the implicated doctor GS Moirangthem have been found prescribing the spurious drugs, the release added.
