By A Staff Reporter IMPHAL, Jan 23: Clarifying the charges labeled by Minuthong Hatta Golapati Athletic Union against MLA Ng. Bijoy who reportedly rescued an alleged rapist from Hatta area on January 18, the MLA said that the rape case was a drama staged by a gang led by a personnel of Police Commando who tried to blackmail a non-local labourer. Speaking to mediapersons today at his residence, MLA Bijoy further stated that the leader of the gang of blackmailers who tried to extort money from the non-local is one Md. Ajijur (constable no. 9801193) who is a driver of Police Commando, presently posted at Imphal West Reserve Line. The statement of Minuthong Hatta Golapati Athletic Union which said that one non-local labourer, namely Jitendra raped a woman labourer at Kwakeithel after showing some pornographic videos was just a cooked up story intended to malign the image of a simple non-local labourer, he said. Bijoy also clarified that the age of Jitendra is only 18 years as against 35 years claimed by the local club. He had rescued the non-local boy after receiving information that the boy had been kidnapped with the demand for a compensation of Rs 50,000 for alleged rape of a woman. He along with his escort team went to Hatta to rescue the boy who was kept in a hotel. The matter was also informed to Porompat Police Station and the timely action of the police rescued the boy and nabbed the gangters who tried to extort money. The rescued boy, Jitendra stated that four unidentified persons abducted him from Dharmasala on January 18 at around 9:30 on false charges of rape case. One of the abductors even had a pistol and forcibly brought him to Hatta where he was locked up in a room of a hotel. Jitendra clarified that he had never misbehaved with the lady Mrs. Sana who alleged him of raping her at Kwakeithel.
