Wangjing locals stage various forms of agitation regarding killing of college student

IMPHAL, Jan 29: Members of the JAC formed against the killing of Narengbam Amitkumar alias Aboi ransacked a house which belongs to a person suspected to be involved with the killing of the student of YK College, Thoubal.
As a mark of protest of the killing of the student, Wangjing bazaar- Amitkumar’s birthplace- also remain shut today with the supporters of the JAC conveying a public meeting where it was resolve that the JAC will pressurize the government in the strongest possible way to produce the culprits at the earliest. The meeting also resolve not to take back the dead body incase the government failed to produce the culprits within 24 hours.
Locals of Wangjing convened an emergency public meeting at the local ground wherein they have decried the grotesque killing of Amit and has called a sudden indefinite bandh on Imphal-Moreh stretch of National Highway 39. Representatives of Wangjing locality.
Representatives of the JAC further submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister today evening while further stating that the JAC will not remain silent and further hold various kinds of protest if the government failed to produce the culprits within the 24 hour deadline provided by the JAC.  
Meanwhile supporters of the JAC thronged the Uripok Khoisnam Leikai residence of a suspected person Irungbam Reba, 20, s/o Balabanta and ransacked the residence before.
Meira Paibis of the Uripok Khaisnam leikai tried to intervened and pacify the agitators who came in tata magic vehicles. The meira paibi further promised to support the JAC in case the suspect turn out to be in anyway associated with the gruesome killing of the student.
The victim Amitkumar, according to sources, received a phone call on January 28 night at around 7:30-8 pm, while he was chatting with some friends at Uripok Khaidem leikai. Amitkumar was staying at the Uripok Khaidem Leikai residence of his uncle Mani as he was taking a coaching class from AISECT, Babupara. It also maintained that the caller- identified as the suspect Reba- asked the victim to pick him up from a spot around the Gymkhana area located behind the RIMS hospital.
The source further maintained that the friends who were chatting with the victim had expressed their desire to go along with him to picked up Reba, however Amitkumar denied on the count that there is only one two-wheeler. However he failed to return after he left to pick up the suspect.
Another source has maintained that the suspect Reba is in police custody.
