IMPHAL, Feb 14: The 30th Assam Rifles under 27 sector of Red Shield Division conducted Anemia detection camps from February 9 to February 14 in the border villages of Songdai, Beheng and Thinghat, informed press release of the PIB Defense Wing.
It said that altogether 198 persons, mostly ladies were treated and provided with medical facilities in the various camps held in the sub-division during the week.
These camps had been conceived as part of the military civic action programme of the Red Shiled Keeping in mind the poor connectivity of the area and complete lack of infrastructure which made the aggrieved locals traverse long distance fro basic medical care.
The camp was attended even by the villagers rom border villages in Myanmar which also lack basic medical infrastructure. The team of Doctors and assistant also addressed the locals and gave them advice on the importance of iron rich diet and maintenance of basic hygiene and sanitation. Besides refreshments was provided to the patients, adds the release.
