IMPHAL Feb 27: 38 Assam Rifles of 27 Sector under the aegis of IGAR(S) developed a Water Supply scheme for the remote village of Parbung in Tipaimukh Sub Division of Churachandpur district under Military Civic Actions project yesterday. The Water supply scheme stores were donated to the Parbung village authority in a small ceremony held at Parbung.
In another occasion,the HQ IGAR(S) distributed 9 Solar lights in the adjoining Villages of Nagaching, Panthilong and Napali Basti on yesterday. Brigadier HPS Pall, DIG, HQ IGAR(S) graced the occasion as the chief guest.
In another occasion, 37 Assam Rifles distributed another six Solar lights to Hollengjang village in Samtal area of Chandel district nearby Indo-Myanmar Border.
The PRO (IGAR) South release further states that an educational tour for students, teachers and meirapaibis of Manipur to Delhi and Agra has been organized by 15 Assam Rifles under MCA project. The tour comprising of 17 school students, 4 teachers and 4 meira paibis accompanied by personnel of 15 Assam Rifles was flagged off by the Commandant 15 Assam Rifles from BN HQ Thoubal on yesterday.
The tour party will travel by road to Dimapur and further move to New Delhi by train. They are scheduled to visit the national monuments including Qutub Minar, Humayun Tomb, Lal Quila, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Taj Mahal.
