IMPHAL, Feb 14: A three day long Public Information Campaign on the flagship programmes of the Central Government will be held at Community Hall, Takyel Kolom Leikai at the premises of Young Progressive Club, from 16th February, 2011.
A statement of the PIB, Government of India, said that the main highlight of the campaign are creation of awareness among the public on the flagship programmes like National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), PM`s 15 point programmes for welfare of minorities, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA), National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), Rural Road, Rural Drinking Water Supply, Rural Housing (Indira Awaj Yojna), Rural Telephony, Total Sanitation Campaign, Integrated Child Development Services Scheme (ICDS), etc.
On the first day, Integrated Child Development Services Schemes (ICDS), PM`s new 15th points programmes for the welfare of the minorities and rural telephony, on the second day, National Rural Employment Guarantee Schemes (NREGS), Rural Housing (IAY), Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC), National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and Rural Drinking Water Supply and last day, Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) will be explained by the experts from the concerned departments. Public may interact after speeches.
A one day free medical camp will also be held on February 17 from 11 in the morning up to 3 pm at the venue as a part of the campaign.
Around 16 exhibition stalls from Government departments will display their activities and programmes taken up for the welfare of the public during the campaign. Six Self Help Groups will also take part in the campaign.
Theme based cultural programmes will be held during the campaign. Song and Drama Division, Government of India, Imphal, MACAM and Nokphade Leela party will present the entertainment programmes.
The campaign will be jointly organized by Press Information Bureau (PIB), All India Radio (AIR), Door Darshan Kendra (DDK), Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Directorate of Filed Publicity (DFP), Song and Drama Division (S&DD) in collaboration with different departments, Government of Manipur and Government of India, Gram Panchayats, NGOs, clubs, SHG, etc. under the sponsorship of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, New Delhi.
