CDTA, organised protest rally

Lamka : Feb 26 : The Churachandpur District Teachers Association , CDTA, organised a protest rally in the district today demanding complete implentation of the 6th Central pay in support of the fast unto death agitation launched by COTA.

The teachers numbering a little less than 1000 congregated earlier at the Churachandpur Government High School from about 10 am and later proceeded to the DC/Ccpur office carrying banners which read ” We Demand Complete Implementation 6th Central pay”.

The rallyst followed IB Road, Tipaimukh Road and then to Tedim road from and culminated at the DC office.

Addressing the gathering, Johny Pau, the joint secretary of CDTA accused the state government headed by O Ibobi as trying to fool the public by saying that if they are given their demands then the rest of the public will suffer.

He further stated that the central government had sanctioned sufficient amount of money keeping in mind the financial crunch which the state government is in for quite sometime, yet the CM has failed to keep his promise which was made in the presence of the education minister and other senior cabinet minister.

The CS in the meantime has given the assurance that they will be given the 6th Central pay in toto in the presence of the senior members in the cabinet earlier yet it has come to naught, he reiterated.

Nehkhohau Haokip Vice President of Welfare Association, Graduate Teachers stated that, the manner the government tried to cheat the pubic is unacceptable, while adding that a government having no knowledge of even plan or unplanned is like leading a ship with no knowledge of the direction properly.

After reading out the memorandum meant for CM, it was later handed over to the Churachanpur DC.

The memorundum states that the teachers have taken a firm decision not to engage in any government related works and assigments as long as their demands are not met.

It further said they will not performed duties assign to them in connection with the ongoing census and will stick to their demands.
