IMPHAL Feb 9: The second phase of the Census 2011 kick started in the state today as along with the rest of the Nation. A total of 7000 enumerators are engaged in the state for conducting the census drive and the process is underway in all the districts of the state. The enumeration process will continue for the next 23 days.
Deputy Director General of National Population Registrar , SK Chakraborty had appealed to the general public to extend full cooperation to the enumerators. Similarly, the Spastic Society of Manipur and other organizations has also appealed to give the real account to the questions of the enumerators as the factual data collected will affect the policy making for the disabled persons.
A sum of more than Rs 2 crore has been sanctioned for the census drive in the state.
