IMPHAL Feb 17: The Democratic Students`™ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) in a press statement has stated that the sufferings of the student community should be addressed by the state government by fulfilling the demands of COTA.
However it has also urged the students to refrain from resorting to violence as burning down of schools will ultimately affect the student community itself. DESAM feels the pulse of the students but the form of protest is not pursued in the rightful way and appeals to stop the arson immediately, the release states.
Further, if the standoff between COTA and state government is not addressed soon, then the upcoming exams of the metric and higher secondary exams will be affected and DESAM will not remain a mute spectator, the release said.
