IMPHAL, Feb 8: The district level exhibition football matches organized by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) with the initiative and authority of the Directorate of Census operations Manipur for creating awareness for the forthcoming Census of India 2011 and National Population Register (NPR) were held today in Thoubal, Imphal-East, Chandel and Ukhrul.
The exhibition match for Thoubal district was held at Charangpat Mamang Polo Ground. The former state league team PYC Phoudel defeated NGL Lourembam by 4-1 in the tie-breaker. Both teams were locked in 1-1 draw during the stipulated time.
Chingkheinganba opened account for NGL Lourembam in 13th minute and Kabira equalized the goal in the last minutes of the match.
Imphal-East (Red) beat Imphal-East (White) by 2-1 goals in the exhibition football match of Imphal-East district level.
Meanwhile, Wung Soccer Club thrashed Ukhrul Town Club by 3-0 goals in the exhibition match of Ukhrul district held at Maha Union High School Ground.
