IMPHAL Feb 26: In its aim to maintain law and order , troops of 43 Assam Rifles apprehended three extortionists carrying out extortion activity on NH-39 near Thengjang Village of Senapati district.
The apprehended persons were identified as Wakambam Barnard , 23 , s/o Dino Singh of Laipham Khounou Mayai Leikai, Shehkosat Kipgen , 27 , s/o Thongpao Kipgen of village Kholpenphai and Satminthang Kipgen , 24 ,s/o Hembau Kipgen of Thomjang Village. One Hero Honda Hunk motor cycle with registered number MN 01D9256, two Rubber Stamp Pads bearing title `NREGA`™ four mobile phones with sim and cash amounting to Rs 390 were also seized from them. The perpetrators were handed over to Sapermeina Police Station, a PIB (DW) release states.
