IMPHAL, Feb 15: The Federation of College Teachers’ Associations, Manipur (FECTAM) in a press statement by the organization’s convenor M Lokendra states that the college teachers demanding implementation of UGC pay scales is ready to carry out a series of protests.
The release further states that , the teachers demand has been sidelined by the state government , in the interest of bringing about quality education in the state , FECTAM in accordance to the ultimatum submitted to the government will take mass casual leave on February 18 and 19. Afterwards sit in protests will beheld at the college campuses from 21 to 26 February and later will go on cease work strike from February 28 onwards, the release added.
