IMPHAL Feb 27: A public discussion was held at Mayanglangjing community hall today under the topic `Manipur India muknaba asi wakheibada miyamsu saruk yaba`. The meeting was jointly organized by Mayanglangjing Semgat Sagat lup ,Taning Development Club and Mayanglangjing Youth Library.
The3 meeting was presided by Chongtham Keinahanbi ,president of MSSL,Konthoujam Chaoba ,president of TDC ,Y Muhindro, president of MYL and General Secretary of Nupi SamajTh Ramani.
Advocate L Jadumani and Th Manihar,president of Mapi Council were the main speakers at the public meeting. Speaking at the occasion , Th Manihar stated that after the amalgamation of the state to the Indian Nation , the public have witness and experienced the sufferings due to the conflict situation ,he stated that the peace talks between India and other UG outfits have fail to bear fruit but in order to bring reconciliation and at last peace, the demand of the plebiscite is an entirely democratic exercise which should be endorsed by the centre ,he said.
The public meeting today unanimously adopted certain resolutions to bring about peace in the state. It was resolved to urge cooperation from the public in regard to carrying out the plebiscite.
To press for the handing over the case of UNLF Chairman RK Sanayaima and other related cases to the Manipur State and to highlight the resolutions to the UN bodies and other human rights organizations.
