IMPHAL, Feb 4: Cadets of the No. 1 Manipur Air Sqn (Flying) NCC observed a foot rally to mark the World Cancer Day 2011 and plunged forward to create awareness about Cancer. The young cadets marched from the campsite at the DM college camp where they are presently undergoing a 10 days Annual Training Camp to Keishampat road junction where a grand reception was organized by the members of the ‘Manipur Cancer Society’.
‘The whole drive was to create awareness about cancer to the citizen of Manipur and impart a feeling of social service and selflessness to the young minds and teach them to fight for a good cause’, said Flt Lt K.U Singh, the Camp Commandant.
According to a PIB defense wing release the Cadets of No. 1 Manipur Air Sqn (Flying) NCC also organized a blood donation camp with the help of ‘Association of Voluntary Blood Donator of Manipur’ in connection with the observation of the World Cancer Day today.
Flt Lt K.U Singh, the Camp Commandant led the campaign. ‘To become a blood donor is to become a life saver’, said Singh.
Altogether 63 donors including 37 Cadets took part in this ‘Life saving campaign’ the release added.
