IMPHAL, Feb 25: As per a directive of the Supreme Court of India passed on September 9 last year in connection with the Writ petition (Cirl) No. 102 of 2007 exploitation of children in orphanages in the state of TN.
The status report in respect of the Manipur State on the occupation educational institutions and public places by the Indian paramilitary forces in the state have been intimated to the Ministry of Home Affairs`™ Government of India, by the state Home Department.
The official status report complied to the MHA by the state Home department elaborately mentioned that, 96th BN CRPF has been shifted from school building at Tupul to new police Ststaion at Noney, Tamenglong district, 33rd Assam Rifles post has vacated Karang Primary School in Bishnupur district, 16th Maratha Light Infantry has vacated Saiton High School in Bishnupur district, 8th Assam has been vacated Sajik Tampak Jr. High School in Chandel district, 30th Assam Rifles has vacated Sighat Govt/ High School in Churachandpur district, 27 Assam Rilfes has vacated Soungdoh Govt. High School in Churachandpur District, 27 Assam Rifles has vacated Hengkot Aided LP School in Churachandpur, 26 Bn CRPF has vacated Awangkhul LP School in Tamenglong district, 26 Bn CRPF has vacated Charoi Chagotlong Jr. High School in Tamenglong District and 26 Assam Rifles has vacated Lamdangmei Jr. High School in Churachandpur district.
The official status report submitted to the MHA has also mentioned that state police are not occupying any school and hostel building in Manipur, the official source added.
