IMPHAL Feb 25: The UNLF in a press release by the outfits senior publicity secretary Ksh Yoiheiba states that it is immaterial whether the AFSPA is imposed or not in the state ,but security personnel in the name of counter insurgency still carries out random acts of violence and perpetrates human rights.
The release states that a lull was seen in the fake encounters following the mistakes made by the security personnel in regard to the 23rd July Khwairamband Bazar incident.
The statement clarified that the arrest of supposed cadres of UNLF by AR,namely Potsangbam Neta S/o Ibohal ,arrested on January 29 and Keithellakpam Dhanabir S/o Kh Mohori of Khurai Soibam Leikai are innocent civilians and not related to the outfit in any manner.
The statement further mentioned the disappearance of one Suresh of Top Siphai arrested by security forces and whose whereabouts remained untraced till date ,such acts of human rights violation by the security forces are condemned by the outfit. The outfit appeals to the public to unite and protest against the atrocities committed in excess by security personnel.
