IMPHAL, March 8: The 10th Session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly which begin from this morning has expressed deep and profound sorrows on the demise of MK Binodini Devi former member of the Manipur Electoral College, 1952 from Khurai constituency and Keisham Apabi Devi former member of the 5th Manipur Legislative Assembly from Oinam Assembly constituency and observed one minute silence to mark the respect to the departed souls and their souls shall remain peace in god’s places.
The events was performed this morning during the sitting of the assembly session as obituary reference in which several members present during the sitting of the house made their obituary references at the demise of MK Binodini Devi, former member of the Manipur Electoral College, 1952 from Khurai constituency and Keisham Apabi Devi, former member of the 5th Manipur Legislative Assembly from Oinam Assembly constituency.
In the meantime, the leader of house, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, while initiating his deliberation during the obituary reference during the session today mentioned that late Mk Binodini Devi who was a member of Territorial council was one of the prominent figures of the state.
He further mentioned that, it was quite fortunate for having a personality like MK Binodini devi during those period who had fostered to enlighten and uplift the real culture and identities of Manipur through her remarkable contributions in the field of literatures, Arts and Culture and scripts through which the true culture and identities of various ethnic groups of the state have been exposed to the outside world.
He further mentioned that, the contributions that have been made by the late Imashi Binodini to uplift through her literature, Arts and scripts will remain immortal and losing her at this present juncture of the state have created big vacuum in the state.
Speaking about the sudden demise of Keisham Apabi Devi, former member of the 5th Manipur Legislative Assembly from Oinam Assembly Constituency praised the contributions which were delivered by the late Apabi Devi while she was serving the state as minister of the Social Welfare.
Later Chief Minister has expressed his profound Sorrows on demised of the said prominent former members of the state legislative Assembly and expressed his heartfelt sorrow and pains that have been felt by the families.
The obituary reference today in the house was participated by the opposition leader Radha Binod Koijam, senior opposition leader O Joy, IFCD minister N Biren, MLA N Mangi of CPI.
