IMPHAL March 11: The leader of the House, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi in the Assembly session held today stated that the teachers who will be newly appointed in the education department will be for the time being only. The decision was taken by the state government in regard to the commencing of the academic session from April 2011 onwards and the vast number of post of teachers lying vacant.
He further stated that the decision has nothing to do with the recruitment exams for primary teachers held by the state earlier.
He confirmed that about a news report carried by a daily newspaper in the regard, an enquiry has been initiated, the investigation team consists of three members and is headed by the Chief Secretary, the team is carrying out investigations in the regard to the recruitment for primary teachers and Hindi graduate teachers and will submit the findings to the state government by March 31, 2011, he said.
The CM further relying to the calling attention motion brought up by O Joy and RK Anand stated that the process is underway to recruit new teachers for RAMSA and SSA under the policy of the state education department. He announced that there would be age relaxation in the recruitment policies and further stated that the centre has sanctioned funds for the teachers salaries and for building 46 schools and is sponsored by the centre totally. He said that there may be hiccups while implementing the policy but the state is ready to deal with the situation from time to time. He appealed the opposition to withdraw any counters from their side and was reciprocated unanimously from the opposition.
