IMPHAL, Mar 6: Manipur will become a self-reliant state by 2020, stated Chief Minister Okram Ibobi today during the inauguration of a community hall at Singjamei Parking, Imphal.
Chief Minister further said that the state government will take up various job-oriented schemes for the unemployed educated youths of the state.
He also stated that Singjamei Supermarket and various other old market sheds at Singjamei area will be renovated soon.Ibobi further announced that a library along with a recreation center for aged people will also be included in the newly inaugurated community hall.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a community hall at Singjamei Thongam Leikai Top Leirak.
The inauguration function was also attended by the Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly. He said that Singjamei has been an important place of Manipur since time immemorial and so it will be developed as the second city of Manipur next to Imphal.Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also announced that YAWA stadium located at Singjamei Leishangthem Leikai will be modernized soon by installing necessary infrastructures.
He stated that adequate funds will be earmarked for the development for the said stadium meant for Sepak Takraw discipline.Ibobi further assured that the increment of cash incentive award for Sepak Takraw players of the state will be discussed soon in the cabinet meeting.
The Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing construction of retaining walls at Leishanthem Leikai.
Speaker Hemochandra stated that the YAWA stadium will be developed by availing financial assistance from the NEC or DoNER.
