IMPHAL, March 13: A meet on Plebiscite was held at Pukhao Laipham, Imphal East district on March 12, organized by the Awang Lam Pukhao UMO unit.
The president of the Awang Lam Pukhao, UMO unit, Thangjam Nongalleima, in statement said that the meet was graced by Ningthoujam (O) Sorojini Leima, president UMO head quarter, as the chief guest, Thangjam Nongalleima as functional president and Thounaojam Rajen, chairman, Laipham Khul as guest of honour.
At the same time, advocate Angomcha Araba, chief co-ordinator, Life Watch and advocate H. Priyokumar, general secretary, All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) also took part in the meet as resources persons.
After deliberately enlightening the need of plebiscite by the resource persons and the dais members the meet also unanimously adopted two resolutions.
Agreeing to the need of peoples’ participation in the ongoing confrontation of Manipur and India, it resolved to hold Plebiscite to ensure full participation.
Besides that it resolved to send the resolutions to United Nations Organization and other international Human Rights bodies to extend their support in bringing a solution to the Manipur-India conflict.
