CCPUR, March 12: The International School of Western Music oraganized a thanks giving service for all music lovers at the Cozy World restaurant, Synod supermarket, Churachandpur today.
T.N Haokip, Minister, Tourism, I & PR, PHED, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, the minister stated “Music has no boundaries and it can influence people towards a positive direction”.
He further asserted his willingness to help the school in case the school is willing to register itself.
Dr. Chaltonlien Amo, ex minister and president of Hmar National Union and K. Thansang, ADC, Churachandpur were the functional president and guest of honor while Michael V. Nengkhanmuan, social leader and Lalropui Hmar, social activist were the chief hosts of the function.
The director while speaking to media persons maintained that the main activities of the organisation is promoting peace, love, harmony and unity through music among the people. The director further thanked the media persons, special invitees, special guest and the Kuki National Organsiation for giving support in this concern.
The meeting programme was a success with leaders of various organisations like Hmar Inpui, Kuki Inpi, Zomi Council, CDSU leaders attending the meeting.
The meeting started at 1.00 pm and continued till 3.00pm. Various students of the school identified as Kimboi, Lunmanf, Hoinu and Lidia performed during the function. Rev. L. Roding Pulamte closed the function with a prayer.
The International School of Music was established on July 5, 2005 at Gurgaon with just 3 students, the school continued to progress with each passing year under the leadership of its founding director Jamsed T and by December 2009, the school had 114 students along with 7 faculties. The objective of the school is to promote excellence in music education. Six students from the said institution have already been placed in various international schools and 23 youths have been given full training as mini musicians.
