IMPHAL, March 15: The All Manipur Students’ Guardian Organization (AMSGO) in view of the series of important examinations ahead including the HSLC, Council exams etc, has appealed to all concerned not to cause any form of disturbances by calling Bandhs, blockade and such.
The appealed was made today by the working president of AMSGO, N. Chaoba representing the parents’ body during a press meet held at its Palace compound office.
N. Chaoba opined that the stalemate between the state government and the Council of Teachers’ Association (COTA), and other technical delays of the authority have caused enough damage to the academic calendar of the student community in the state. However the students have no other choice but to appear for their exams which will start very soon.
In the wake of such unwanted happenings faced by the students the AMSGO has drawn the attention of all section of the society to refrain from calling bandh, blockades etc. that could disrupt the examinations in the interest of the student community.
At the same time, it also appealed the authority concerned not to delay the declaration of the results of the said examinations.
According to N. Tomba Singh, Advisor, AMSGO, the declaration of results was unnecessarily delayed last years owing to issue of remuneration fee of the teachers assigned to check the exam papers adding he termed the act unethical. The delayed caused trouble for the students to get enrolled in institutes outside of the state, said N. Tomba. He appealed the government and general public to take necessary initiatives to ensure smooth and fair examinations.
