IMPHAL, March 30: A meet on Plebiscite was held today at Wangjing Wangkhei today. The meeting was organized by the Wangjing Lamding Apunba Samaj.
The meet was graced by Y Kunjabihari,president of Apunba Loumi Lup of Thoubal and Ng Nganbi,vice president of CADA ,Wangjing as the presidieum members.
UPF general secretary O Bikramjit and K Langamba,advocate and former president of UCM attended as the resource persons.The resource persons and dignitaries deliberately enlighten the gathering the need for peoples participation in the ongoing arm conflict between India and Manipur, through plebiscite.Bikramjit stated that the exercise is a democratic means and the public needs to endorse the stance of carrying out the plebiscite so that peace and normalcy returns in the state.
The meeting also unanimously resolved to urge the concerned to hold the plebiscite under the aegis of the United Nations, to transfer the case of UNLF chairman RK Meghen among others to the state and also to appraise the resolutions taken in the meeting today to the notice of the UN and other human rights organizations.
