IMPHAL, March 31: For the first time, Manipur Science aquarium has been inaugurated in the state today at D.M. college commerce campus organized by Manipur Science and technology council central jail road, Imphal.
The inaugural function was supported by Department of university and higher education Government of Manipur.
K. Moses Chalai, IAS commissioner (univ. and Hr. Edu.) as chief guest, Dr. R.K Yaiskul Addl. Director (univ. and Hr. Edu.) Government of Manipur as president, Shri Ng. Brajakumar Singh Principle of D.M college of commerce Imphal, Dr. P. Ranabir Singh Principle of D.M college of Science Imphal, Shri Th. Surendranath Singh executive Director MASTEC and Uc. Laisharm were the guest of honor of the function.
Speaking at the inauguration function K. Moses Chalai said that the main objective of setting up the aquarium is for the development of the new generations and bringing scientific temperament on them.
He further mentioned that how the maintenance becomes a major problem for Government school or college and how a private school or colleges do the maintenance so well even though they struggle at the initiation progress. Therefore the aquarium will be a new challenge by seeing how well the maintenance is been done.
And he revealed that all the school children, students as well as adult should come, see, learn and experience from this aquarium by acknowledging the disappeared, disappearing and presently available fishes all around the globe.
Besides the aquarium inaugural function Education Satellite system was also formally launched.
