IMPHAL, March 15: To check the instances of road mishaps during the ensuing Holi festival, the Imphal West district police is going to organize a special drive to implement certain safety norms and pull-up erring individuals, informed a statement issued by the Senior SP Imphal West district Police, L. Kailun.
It said that during the drive all the police personnel of the districts shall give emphasis to check the driving irregularities with penalties under the Motor Vehicles Acts 1988.
It requested the general public to co-operate and help the police in curbing road mishaps and to save precious lives and ensure peaceful celebration of the Holi festival.
It further requested all the law abiding citizens and guardians not to sent out their wards without valid driving license and other necessary documents. The special drive has not been made with the intention of disturbing the festive mood of the Holi festival but to check the alarming instances of raod mishaps which can be avoided with co-operation from all concerned, adds the release.
